Santa Barbara American Restaurants
Restaurant Review Submitted on 5/16/2008 Visited on

We waited for a long time for our table, and thought that we were going to have a bad experience. We waited at the bar nearby for what we thought was way too long, but then the owner showed up, paid our bill, and took us to a table in the restaurant. We were taken care of like everything was fine. There was never an apology, just perfect service, and it made up for the wait entirely. It turned out that the "owner" was not the owner at all. Just a waiter named Brent that told us that he loves working there, and he proved it tonight. The restaurant was very busy, but we were still treated like the only customers. The food was perfect too. What a refreshing place. There will be at least 8 new customers in that place.

Beachbreak Cafe

Restaurant Review Submitted on 5/13/2008 Visited on 4/08-5/08

I keep going back for the food and am severely disappointed by the service. Even the owner was rude with me, I took a break from them for a bit and then when I decided to go back, the waitress was rude with me.

Acapella
Santa Barbara American Restaurants
Restaurant Review Submitted by Local on 5/11/2008 Visited on Often over the years

When Acapella opened, I was excited, but it has gone down hill since it's opening. This restaurant has changed names to the Encina Cafe or something like that. The other reviews must be by family members. The food is mediocre, the vegetables were cold rubbery and quite disgusting. The servce was poor, what about a little training? Ambiance is OK, but not great. I wish someone will take this restaurant over and do a professional job. We need a good restaurant in this neighborhood.

Zaffiro (Old Name Pascucci)
Goleta Italian Restaurants
Restaurant Review Submitted on 5/9/2008 Visited on often - especially for happy hour

Rich food, strong drinks, and good service (usually). I've never been disappointed with anything on the menu - although they were out of cheesecake one day when I wanted a slice. But our server was wonderful & brought us complimentary tiramisu :-) They have great deals on food & appetizers during happy hour. And Billy is the best bartender!

Comfortable, relaxing dining experience. Chef Melton provides an excellent and authentic French menu with a California flair. What a pleasure to have a true dining opportunity, not a 'hurry and leave' atmosphere.

Seagrass
Santa Barbara Seafood Restaurants
Restaurant Review Submitted by Eric on 5/4/2008 Visited on 03/30/08

EXCELLENT! The food, the service, the ambiance even for a Sunday evening was superb. Went with my wife for our 5th Anniversary when I called for the reservation they made sure it was a special evening. Seagrass is owned and managed by the same people who own Bouchon which we love as well - great service and great food. Prices are well within reason for what you get. Great for dinner before an evening at the Arlington or Granda, but a bit of a walk. The main room is huge done in an off white with starfish candle holders, and even with a full room of people you were able to talk to the other person without having to raise your voice. The chef was great and was willing to make adjustments as needed. We intend to go back many more times in the future. Score another victory for the owners of Bouchon and keep it coming! Well worth the experience I urge everyone to go and dine at Seagrass at least once, even for those people who don't eat seafood, they do have alteratives on the menu and seasonal fish and veggies.

Zaffiro (Old Name Pascucci)
Goleta Italian Restaurants
Restaurant Review Submitted on 4/11/2008 Visited on a few weeks ago

My boyfriend and I went to Zaffiro's a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. The service was prompt (although a little rushed) and the food was fantastic. I had chicken fettuccine in a marsala sauce and it was fabulous. My boyfriend had the ravioli sample platter and while it looked pretty and tasted good, it was not a lot of food--2 or 3 ravioli per sample--he ended up eating the rest of my dish b/c it was too much. Had a great time though!

This is hands down the BEST Chinese food in Santa Barbara/Goleta. The food is fresh, delicious with large portions. Their lunch specials are a good value. Try their Green Onion Pancakes, they are served with a spicy sauce and very filling. The restaurant is simple and clean.
